Part II of this course will continue to delve into implicit biases and how they can influence interactions, treatment decisions, and overall care in medical and dental settings. Participants will explore the historical and current effects of bias, learn to identify its presence within their own practices, and develop actionable strategies to reduce its impact. The session also includes a pre- and post-assessment to help measure personal growth and support the creation of a more inclusive, equitable, and respectful environment for all patients.
Learning objectives:
- Define implicit bias and its relevance in health care.
- Recognize how bias impacts patient care and practice culture.
- Apply strategies to mitigate bias and improve equitable access for all patients.

This course counts towards Michigan’s implicit bias requirement for licensed health care professionals. Implicit bias training is in addition to any continuing education training required for your profession.
