Sonya Hughes is an award-winning, nationally recognized expert in diversity, equity, and inclusion. She has proven skills in strategic thinking, DEI leadership, capacity building training and facilitation, thought partnering, and coaching. She is experienced in aligning DEI into organizational growth strategies, strategic diversity planning, program development, individual and team cultural assessments, and development. Prior to opening Inclusive Outcomes in 2018, Hughes was vice president of inclusion with the Grand Rapids Area Chamber of Commerce. During her 19 years with the organization she developed the first Chamber of Commerce diversity and inclusion department in the nation — a noted model of excellence in the industry. She holds a Diversity Professional Certificate from Cornell University and a Diversity Management Certificate from the University of Houston, Bauer College of Business, is a cultural Intelligence advanced professional and unconscious bias trainer certified by the Cultural
Intelligence Center, and a qualified administrator certified by the Intercultural Development Inventory.
