Dr. Robert M Peskin earned his DDS degree from the School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University in 1977. He subsequently completed both general practice and dental anesthesiology residencies at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. In addition he has participated in more than 1,500 hours of continuing dental education studies. His interest in professional liability insurance began in the mid-1980s during the malpractice insurance crisis that ultimately led to the creation of the claims-made coverage that is the market standard today. During that time, he lectured frequently on malpractice insurance in general and in particular on its impact on coverage for dentists administering anesthesia. In 1986, Dr. Peskin began a 16-year tenure on the New York State Dental Association’s Council on Insurance.
